Matthew is still progressing in his therapy sessions.
Kimberly has been in Clayton for a couple of days to take Lexie to her first day of school and taking care of some things. Matthew's nurse called Kimberly Saturday morning to report that Matthew smiled and said "Good Morning" to her. He actually got the G sound out and mouthed the rest. We were so excited as this is his first smile!

That is such good news! That makes me smile inside and out! I went through the blog the other day, I started at day one and read through again. Wow, it is AMAZING how far he has come. There has been SO many prayers going up for Matthew, and they are most definatly being answered! I praise God everyday for the miracle he is doing in Matthew and I continue to pray for Matthew to have the strength to press forward as he is doing and I believe that he will continue to amaze us all!!! He has a very strong will and with God and the love of his family, I believe that is what has brought him this far. I am very proud of Matthew!! It could have been easy for him to give up because I can only imagine the struggles he is going through, but he chose to fight and overcome the impossibilites! I hope that everyone can get some life lessons out of this! There is abosultely nothing that we can't overcome with God on our side! Praise God for his love and mercy!

Just as I was about to pull my hair out due to the craziness of the first week of college, I read this, and it has brightened my day! It's more than great to hear that Matthew has smiled, it makes me smile just thinking about it! I'll be ready for him to get up out of there and come home and see us, because I miss that brat! =)
