Expecting A Miracle

This is Alichia, Matthew's aunt posting today. As many of you know, it's been almost 4 years since Matthew's accident. Over this 4 years we've gone from full of hope to despair, moments of hope to disappointment. Full of faith, yet wavering because of the ever present fact that Matthew is in pain, his face shows us that and the improvement that he had in the first year after the accident has long faded. He's battled a terrible bed sore wound which resulted in many surgeries and months in the hospital, staff infections, respiratory problems, eye infections, and on and on.
I've decided today that I am going to proclaim that even after 4 years, I am believing that our God, creator of all, can heal Matthew. At different times our family has been led to verses that lead us to believe that God is going to heal Matthew. I want to share the story that happened this week...
My mother, Matthew's beautiful loving MaMa, has a password that she uses, Matthew86 (the year Matthew was born), she all of a sudden wondered what verse Matthew 8:6 was in the Bible. She looked it up, "And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of palsy, grievously tormented." The next verse says, "And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him." Now I should also mention that she had a bookmark on this page of her Bible as well. These are verses that we have been led to before that have provided that hope that I mentioned. On this same day, Mom's devotion reading from Proverbs 31 Ministry was this...

“Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in obedience to him.” Psalm 128:1 (NIV)
What kind of foolish do you want to be? It’s a question I’ve started
asking myself.
When I hear the word “foolish,” I’m drawn to the story of Noah, a man
passionate about the pursuit of obedience, despite looking like a fool.
In Genesis 6, God speaks to Noah about the greatest flood that would ever
occur (6:17). He instructed Noah to build a massive ark (6:14-16) and to bring
his family (6:18) and two of every creature (6:19-20) on board.
People thought Noah had lost his mind. What kind of a fool would build a
giant boat and load it with smelly animals? All while there was not a raindrop
in sight. I imagine the mockery he endured from those in his community was
painful for Noah.
Yes, Noah appeared awfully foolish.
Until… those dark clouds rolled in. Until… it rained and rained and rained.
Until… water covered the entire earth. (Be Foolish Nicki Koziarz P31 Author)

When Mom shared this with me, I asked her, okay so what are we supposed to do? I've wondered this many times, the time I was on my knees crying out to the Lord for a miracle, believing in that miracle... other times I would be led to scripture just as my mom was: see my post on October 5, 2010 http://alichiawhitehead.blogspot.com/2010/10/expect-miracle.html

Today, we are telling others of our belief in our God that is the only hope for a miracle in Matthew's life. We are going to be foolish in the eyes of many, saying Matthew will be healed.
